The officials posted in Information Technology Department of the Bank are expected to give IT related support to the branches/offices in their jurisdiction. It has been observed that majority of the IT Department at Circle level are being managed by non IT officials only, due to ongoing shortage of qualified IT officials. This results into various problems being faced at the Circle level, in the areas of data management, roll out support to the branches and efficient management of IT Infrastructure, and directly affects the delivery of customer services in the branches.

This programme has been designed to mitigate this problem and has been designed to provide advanced knowledge of the IT tools, techniques and technology deployed in the bank. The aim is to equip these non-IT officials in such a way that they are able to ensure data/support management of IT related issues at Circle level.

Non-IT scale I/II/III officials, deployed/identified to be deployed, in IT Departments/ZNCs/DC/VLBs at Circle/HO level, having basic knowledge of IT and aptitude to learn advanced concepts.

• Present status of computerization in banks, various settlements affecting computerization in banks, Computer Fundamentals, Computer Peripherals – Printer, Scanner, Web-cam etc and desktop management
• Software Technology: Operating System like DOS, Windows, LINUX and UNIX
• Data base Systems: RDBMS like Oracle, SQL, Front end tools: D2K, SQL * PLUS and PL/SQL
• Data Communication and Communication products Computer networks: Lease Line, ISDN, VSAT and Remote Access Server, Network Components, Various Network Topologies, Network Trouble shooting, TCP/IP addressing & Management of Network centers
• Site preparation, Data and Power cabling, Procurement of Hardware and UPS, Maintenance of HW, UPS and batteries and Overview of Computer viruses, anti virus policy and Firewall management
• Information System Audit, Digital certificate - Private and public key management, Data warehousing and Data Mining
• Business Process Re-engineering, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Plan, Technology led products and Delivery Channels: e-commerce, ATM, Internet Banking etc
• Payment system: RTGS/NEFT/SFMS/ECS
• Information Resource Management and Call Centre, Help desk, HRMS, E-circular, Back office functions, working of MICR centers, Cheque truncation project & Visit to MICR center, ZNC and Back office
• Finacle (CBS) - All aspects from identification of branch to migration of data, pre & post migration activities. Operational training in all Finacle modules including Loans/Forex etc.
