This course is ideal for person who have never used Linux or UNIX, and who have no prior command-line experience in any other operating system. You are taught the basics of a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment and it prepares you for your future role as a system administrator
PREREQUISTES
User-level experience with any computer system, use of mouse, use of menus, use of any graphical use interface.
GOAL
Upon successful completion of this course, the delegate will be a Red Hat Enterprise Linux user productive in using and customizing a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system for common command line processes and desktop productivity roles.

RH133 RED HAT LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR – 32 Hours
 
In this course, you will start building skills in system administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to a level where you can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network.
PREREQUISTES
RH033 Red Hat Linux Essentials or equivalent experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
GOAL
Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates will be a Linux system administrator who has proven competency by passing the RHCT Exam, a realistic performance-based lab exam that tests his/her actual ability to install, configure and attach a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux system to an existing production network.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
  • Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux interactively and with Kickstart
  • Control common system hardware
  • Create and maintain the Linux file system
  • Configure an NFS client and autofs
  • Understand system and service initialization
  • Perform user and group administration
  • Integrate a workstation with an existing network running common network service
  • Configure a workstation as a client to NIS, DNS and DHCP services
  • Administer the Linux printing subsystem

RH253 RED HAT LINUX NETWORK AND SECURITY – 32 HOURS
 
In this course you will learn how to configure common Red Hat Enterprise Linux network services. Network and local security tasks are also topics of this course.
PREREQUISTES
RH133 Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration or equivalence experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux; LAN/WAN fundamentals or equivalent; internet working TCP/IP or equivalent.

GOAL
Upon completion of this course, the successful delegates will be a system administrator who can setup a Red Hat Enterprise Linux server and configure common network services and security at a basic level.
PREPARES FOR
RH302 – RHCE Certification Exam.

The RHCE Certificate is granted upon passing the RHCE Exam, a performance-based test on live equipment that measures actual competencies at server system administration, setup of networking services, network security, diagnostic and troubleshooting.
EXAMINATION STRUCTURE
  • A server install and network services configuration lab.
  • A troubleshooting and maintenance lab( 2.5 Hours)

The RCHT Certificate is granted upon passing the RCHT Exam, a performance- based test on live equipment that measures actual competencies at system administration, including installation and configuration of a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system and attaching it to a live network running network services.
